As a healing center the safety of our guests is our number one priority. The amazing healing talents of our Shipibo shamans is the main ingredient of all our Ayahuasca retreats. But what happens in a case of emergency? Every now and than we hear of a tragic loss of life in other Peruvian retreat centers. We feel many of these situations could have been prevented with the proper preparation and care of the staff at hand.

Safety starts with a thorough screening process for all our guests before any retreat where possible contra indications for working with Ayahuasca can be identified. An essential step in running a safe retreat center. Pachamama Temple is also 20 minutes away from the nearest hospital which means quick acces to professional care. That being said very often the first response to any emergency situation is crucial.

We want to do everything in our power to invest in the safest conditions possible for our guests during their work with the medicine and assure western safety standards. With this in mind we have asked Chantal Van Merode from the Netherlands to train our maestro’s and temple staff in emergency care. We would like to congratulate everybody on acquiring their certificates and thank Chantal for helping us to create a higher safety standard in our temple.
